- We hope to be a people who are known by their love.
- We hope to be a contemplative community, so immersed and rooted in the splendour and love of God that people naturally make a difference in their world.
- We hope to be an active community, one that takes action towards justice, reconciliation, hospitality, change, hope, forgiveness, healing, and life itself.
- We hope to be a neighbourhood community, rather than a commuter community. The benefits of being rooted in a neighbourhood are environmental (less gas used for driving), social (more chance to nurture friendships through the week), time (more time with people, less time driving and scheduling) and hospitality (more time to enjoy meals with each other).
- We hope to be a community that crosses racial, ethnic and cultural divides. We want to celebrate that we can experience God through Jesus in many different ways.
- We hope to be non-denominational, which means any Christian from any tradition is welcome. At the same time we respect and draw upon the many rich Christian traditions (ex. Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox) that can feed our life. We also respect the spiritual life of other faiths, such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Judaism.
- We have no interest in buildings. Rather there is plenty of space to meet at people's homes, and as more of us come together, to meet at St. Andrews Community Centre and other meeting places.
- We hope to see people move farther along the four spiritual journeys, both individually and in community.
- We hope to be a community that calls forth artists, leaders, teachers, mentors, spiritual fathers and mothers, prophets, activists, mystics, administrators, change-agents and community builders.
"Do not ask what the world needs. Instead ask what makes you come alive. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." Howard Thurman
